Earthrise Energy Awards $12,950 Grant to Gateway Family Services
Funding Will Support Clinical Space Enhancements to Better Serve Families
Earthrise Energy has awarded a $12,950 grant to Gateway Family Services to help upgrade its clinical space, supporting a more welcoming, therapeutic environment for families receiving mental health services.
“At Gateway Family Services, we believe that healing happens through connection,” said Michael Remole, CEO and Counselor of Gateway Family Services. “Thanks to Earthrise Energy’s generous support, we can create a space that promotes regulation, safety, and trust — key ingredients for the healing journey for the families we serve.”
The funding will allow Gateway to update its clinical spaces with calming features that support the “regulate, relate, reason” model of care. Planned enhancements include incorporating music and visual elements in the waiting room to assist with emotional regulation, creating a child-friendly area for play and physical activity before appointments with the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and providing appropriate seating for caregivers throughout the clinic. The updates will also support the agency’s play therapy work by equipping the space with a sand tray, figurines, games, and a kitchenette to better meet children’s therapeutic needs.
In addition, Gateway plans to increase the visibility of its services to the broader community by adding inviting, informative window signage. A new refrigerator will also be purchased to properly store medications, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of care.
“Gateway Family Services is utilizing a model of trauma-informed care that focuses not just on treatment, but on building an environment that helps clients and families feel safe, seen, and supported,” said Talya Tavor, Director of Community Engagement at Earthrise Energy. “We are proud to invest in their important work and help expand access to holistic, high-quality mental health care in rural Illinois.”
Earthrise Energy’s RISE Grant program supports initiatives that strengthen communities through investments in education, mental health, and community development. Through this program, Earthrise has awarded nearly $2 million in grants to organizations across Illinois. Earthrise Energy’s grant program is fully funded through the company’s own profits as a Public Benefit LLC, reflecting the commitment to reinvesting in the communities it serves.
Earthrise Energy, an independent power producer, owns and operates 1.7 gigawatts of natural gas generation capacity and is developing 1.5 gigawatts of solar projects in the Midwest, including the two Gibson City projects which are now in construction.
