Earthrise Energy Awards $5,448 Grant to WorkSource Enterprises

Funding Helped Create Safe Outdoor Recreation Space for Adults with Disabilities in Vermilion County

Danville, IL — Earthrise Energy has awarded a $5,448 RISE Grant to WorkSource Enterprises to support the creation of a safe, accessible outdoor recreation area for individuals with disabilities who are enrolled in its Community Day Services and Home Base programs. With the grant funding, WorkSource installed a fence and adjustable-height basketball hoop—transforming a previously undeveloped space into a safe active hub for movement and connection.

“For more than 50 years, we’ve prioritized helping adults with developmental disabilities gain independence and build meaningful connections in their community,” said Brandy Seabaugh, CEO of WorkSource Enterprises. “Thanks to this grant from Earthrise Energy, we were able to create a secure and welcoming place to enjoy the outdoors right here at our facility.”

WorkSource’s Community Day Services and Home Base programs focus on adaptive living, vocational training, and building life skills tailored to each participant’s needs. Having an on-site space—complete with accessible restrooms and safety features—allows more individuals to engage in outdoor activities.

“Earthrise Energy is proud to support WorkSource Enterprises as they expand access to outdoor recreation,” said Ellie Ginis, Project Development Manager at Earthrise Energy. “This project helps ensure that more people can enjoy the benefits of outdoor activity and connection.”
