Earthrise Energy Awards RISE Grant to Cumberland County Extension Education Building Association
Cumberland County Extension Education Building Association (CCEEBA) has been awarded a $15,000 RISE Grant from Earthrise Energy to fund capital improvements at its livestock and community center in Toledo, Illinois. The community grant will be used to enhance the facility, which opened its doors in 2022 and has since become a hub for 4-H, FFA, and other community events.
“CCEEBA is thrilled to receive this generous grant from Earthrise Energy and the company’s ongoing support,” said Katy Light, CCEEBA Fundraising Volunteer. “This funding will be instrumental in enhancing our facility and expanding our programming for the youth of Cumberland County.”
This is the second RISE Grant that CCEEBA has received from Earthrise Energy. Last year, Earthrise Energy awarded CCEEBA a RISE Grant to help pay down the debt for the community event center.
Earthrise Energy owns and operates five natural gas plants in Illinois, including the Shelby County Energy Center in Neoga, the Gibson City Energy Center in Gibson City, and the Tilton Energy power plant in Tilton in central Illinois. The company is also proposing to build several solar projects in central Illinois, including Northwest Solar, a 150-megawatt facility southeast of Neoga.
Earthrise Energy launched its RISE Grant program to help fund local initiatives that promote excellence in education, protect the environment, and support the communities where Earthrise Energy has operations. Since it launched the program, the company has given more than $400,000 in grants and sponsorships to support initiatives and encourage civic life in the local communities where it operates.
“Earthrise Energy is committed to investing in the future of Cumberland County region and is happy to support CCEEBA’s ongoing efforts to improve this important community facility,” said Earthrise Energy Project Developer Nicole Vaughn. “We applaud CCEEBA for the work they have done to provide Cumberland County 4-H members and other local residents a great place to learn and play.”
Emre Ozmen, Director of Development at Earthrise Energy, added: “This investment in the facility will help create a more vibrant community space and provide more opportunities for people to come together.”
