Castor J. Armesto

Castor J. Armesto serves as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Earthrise Energy. Castor brings more than 15 years of experience in both private and in-house practice to the Company. Castor has served as a strategic advisor to board of directors and senior management during times of transformational growth.

Prior to joining Earthrise, Castor was Managing Director, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Spire Inc., one of the largest natural gas utilities in the country. There he had corporate-wide legal oversight for M&A, finance, corporate contracting, and information security/data privacy. At Spire, Castor directed legal efforts for acquisitions that tripled Spire’s market capitalization. He also served as General Counsel to several Spire business units, including Spire Marketing (a natural gas marketing business), Spire STL Pipeline (a 65-mile, greenfield interstate pipeline), and Spire Alabama and Mississippi (serving 600,000 utility customers).

Castor began his legal career as an associate and then partner at Stinson LLP, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and corporate law. While at Stinson, Castor closed more than 100 domestic and international transactions, enabled commercial relationships in more than 30 countries around the globe, and crafted dozens of bespoke commercial arrangements, including joint ventures and supply, manufacture, warehousing, and tolling agreements. At Stinson, Castor spent significant time seconded to Koch Industries, Bunge, and ADM.

Castor holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis. Castor is a member of the Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa bars.
