Land is the critical path to realizing successful utility-scale solar plants adjacent to our legacy gas power plants (hubs). Earthrise’s differentiated strategy requires a surgical, thorough campaign that leaves no stone unturned, and extensive easement negotiations to tie parcels together. The Land Acquisition Agent – Contract is an individual contributor, traveling to and negotiating the contracts for successful land and ROW campaigns at Earthrise’s hubs. The Land Agent will report to the Director of Land Acquisition and collaborate closely with Earthrise’s Project Developers. The Land Agent role is a 1099 contractor role, and requires significant travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Execute land acquisition and rights of way campaigns at Earthrise’s current hubs, ensuring a high velocity of quality of sites and rights of way to reach campaign objectives on time
• Under the Land Acquisition Director’s direction, join weekly calls with external land agents to review progress, problem solve, and apply pressure when needed to close
• Negotiate land and easement agreements with landowners directly
• Rapidly internalize Earthrise messaging and how to navigate negotiations
• Provide feedback to the Manager and Director to help guide resource allocation and ensure campaign objectives are completed
• Interact closely with Project Developers to ensure high quality of sites and alignment with project schedules

Qualifications & Skills

• Willingness to travel to Earthrise’s hubs in the states that Earthrise has projects for landowner meetings at least 75% of the time
• Direct experience with land leases and rights of way/easements via variety of contract structures
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
• Always-selling mentality, persistent, never takes no for an answer
• Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency

Contract & Compensation

• Land Acquisition Agents – Contract will be asked to execute a Form of Consulting agreement with detailed Statement of Work
• Compensation will be per a daily rate, and expenses reimbursed on a per diem basis (and mileage per IRS mileage reimbursement rates)
