Will Fischer

Will Fischer serves as Vice President of Development for Earthrise Energy, leading the Development team as it builds out more than 2 GW of renewable energy projects. He brings to his role more than a decade of development, origination, strategy, and M&A experience in renewable energy. Prior to joining Earthrise Energy, he worked on utility-scale solar and battery storage projects at Pine Gate Renewables, leading one of three regional development teams as Vice President of Development. Most recently at Pine Gate Renewables, he served as Vice President of Strategy across Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP). There he crafted market strategy and led stakeholder outreach to ensure successful entry into new markets.

Prior to working at Pine Gate Renewables, Will worked as Vice President, Business Development at Summit Ridge Energy where he led market strategy in the New York Independent System Operator and Mid-Atlantic markets, including greenfield siting, project development, M&A, and policy work. He also led the company’s battery storage practice, building a portfolio of standalone projects. Prior to Summit Ridge Energy, Will worked as Origination Manager at SunEdison, negotiating power purchase agreements with Fortune 500 corporations to help them meet their decarbonization goals. Will began his career as a Project Manager at Nextility, overseeing the installation of rooftop solar PV and solar thermal projects.

Will earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the Olin Business School. He is an alumnus of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute’s Fellowship program.
