Earthrise Energy Awards $20,000 Grant to Danville Public School Foundation

Funding Will Support Enhanced Educational Experiences for Students in Danville Public Schools

Danville, IL — Earthrise Energy has awarded a $20,000 RISE Grant to the Danville Public School Foundation to support students across Danville Community Consolidated School District 118. The funding will help to add creative classroom projects, advance technology to enhance curriculum, and bring in engaging speakers for schoolwide assemblies. This provides students with dynamic learning opportunities that go beyond what is traditionally provided through tax dollars.

“The Foundation supports students by supporting teachers. Teachers can submit their creative classroom ideas and through the generosity of our donors, these ideas become reality. Our mission is to make learning more engaging, enriching, and inspiring,” said Stephanie Yates, Executive Director of the Danville Public School Foundation. “This support from Earthrise Energy will help bring new creative tools and experiences into classrooms, impacting even more students across our district.”

The Foundation awards grants to educators for classroom projects that enhance academic instruction in areas like STEM, the arts, literacy, physical fitness and civic engagement. Administrators and teachers use grant funding to create hands-on lessons, invite guest speakers, and introduce new resources that spark curiosity and deepen understanding.

In recent years, the Foundation has funded projects such as sensory tubs for Meade Park Elementary, a sound system upgrade for the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium at Danville High School, STEM carts and supplies at Southwest Elementary, and digital interactive playground systems for PE classes at seven schools. It has also supported large-scale efforts like district-wide eclipse viewing classes and schoolwide communication boards designed to ensure more inclusive play for all students.

The Earthrise Energy grant will allow the Foundation to expand its impact, piloting new initiatives and reaching even more classrooms, while maintaining its commitment to funding programs that align with the district’s educational goals.

“Earthrise Energy is proud to support the Danville Public School Foundation in its mission to uplift and inspire students,” said Ellie Ginis, Project Development Manager at Earthrise Energy. “By investing in creative, student-centered learning, we’re helping build brighter futures for the entire community.”

Earthrise Energy’s RISE Grant program supports initiatives that strengthen communities through investments in education, mental health, and community development.
