RISE Grant to Neoga CUSD #3 and Additional Support for FFA Boosters and PTO To Help Fuel Recovery After March Storm
Neoga, Il — Earthrise Energy has awarded a $100,000 RISE Grant to Neoga Community Unit School District 3 as part of a broader tornado recovery effort in response to the devastating March 14, 2025 storm that struck the area.
The March tornado caused significant damage to both the Neoga Elementary and Junior-Senior High School buildings, tearing away roofs, breaking windows, and flooding classrooms. Outdoor athletic facilities and essential infrastructure also sustained damage, disrupting student life and daily operations across the district.
“This grant will go a long way in helping us repair and rebuild from the devastation we experienced last month,” said Kevin Haarman, Superintendent of Neoga CUSD #3. “More than financial support, this is a message to our community that we’re not in this alone. We’re incredibly grateful to Earthrise Energy for investing in our schools and in the well-being of our students during this difficult time.”
In addition to school repairs, Earthrise supported local organizations that play a key role in youth development and family engagement. Neoga FFA Boosters received a grant to purchase a new shed, allowing them to continue their hands-on agricultural education programs.
“This support is helping us get back on our feet and ensures our students won’t miss out on the valuable learning opportunities our program provides,” said Maria Moran, Neoga FFA Boosters President. “We’re thankful to Earthrise and our entire community for stepping up when our community needed it most.”
The Neoga PTO also received funding to continue its efforts to uplift students, parents, and educators during an especially challenging time.
“Earthrise is honored to stand alongside the Neoga community as they recover,” said Nicole Vaughn, Senior Development Manager at Earthrise Energy. “Our commitment goes beyond energy—we are here to support the people and places that make this community strong.”
Through the RISE Grant program, Earthrise has awarded more than $1 million in grants to organizations across Illinois.
