Earthrise Energy Co-Founder and CEO Carla Tully Recognized with Silver Stevie Award for Best Female Entrepreneur

Earthrise Energy Co-Founder and CEO Carla Tully was recently named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the category of Best Female Entrepreneur – Business Products (11 – 2,500 employees) at the 19th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

Tully was recognized for her work in founding, leading, and quickly scaling Earthrise Energy, an independent power producer founded to accelerate the clean energy transition. Tully founded Earthrise in 2019 and established the company as a public benefit corporation (PBC) to generate economic, social, and environmental benefits by aligning its goal with the long-term needs of all its stakeholders —customers, employees, and local communities—for the public benefit.

In recognizing Tully’s work, a Stevie Award judge remarked on her “leadership and people centeredness” as being an inspiration. Another judge cited Tully’s ability to quickly grow the business and noted the company’s role in solving complex problems as it “creates opportunities for people.”

“I am honored to be among the many accomplished women who were recognized this year as Stevie Award winners and thrilled to be recognized for leading the Earthrise team,” said Tully. “This accomplishment would not have been possible without the talent and dedication of an amazing team that I am proud to lead. Together, we are working to advance a clean energy transition that is reliable, resilient, and renewable and building a company culture that fosters collaboration and allows team members to thrive.”

Before founding Earthrise, Tully served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Renewable Energy at MAP Energy, a private equity firm. There she managed and was responsible for scaling MAP’s renewable energy business, including raising its first all-renewable energy fund. Before that role, Tully held several senior leadership positions at The AES Corporation, one of the world’s leading power companies, including serving as President of AES UK & Ireland. Under her leadership, the company pioneered the first-in-market energy storage project that helped establish Ireland’s energy storage market.

For the 19th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, more than 1,500 entries were submitted for consideration in more than 100 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world, working on eight juries.
