BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

The Gibson City Energy Center – Solar 1 (GCEC – Solar 1) is a 135 MW solar project being built in McLean County. If approved, the project will generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power more than 23,000 homes in Illinois and is projected to generate between $24-27 million in economic benefits for the region.

INVESTED FOR TOMORROW

The Gibson City Energy Center – Solar 1 will be sited on approximately 1,300 acres of land leased from private landowners and located in the eastern portion of the county near Earthrise Energy’s natural gas plant, the Gibson City Energy Center. The project will leverage the existing transmission infrastructure at the natural gas plant.
