RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT

Project Overview

Learn about the Glacier Moraine Solar project in Cumberland and Coles counties that will improve grid reliability.

Building for the future

The Glacier Moraine Solar Project is a 210 MWac solar project being built in Cumberland and Coles counties. If approved, the project will generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power more than 35,700 homes in Illinois.

INVESTED FOR TOMORROW

The Glacier Moraine Solar Project will be sited on approximately 2,900 acres of land leased from private landowners and located northeast of Earthrise Energy’s natural gas plant, the Shelby County Energy Center. The project will leverage the existing transmission infrastructure at the natural gas plant.
