Rodrigo Gonzalez Arbizu

Rodrigo Gonzalez Arbizu brings nearly 20 years of experience in energy infrastructure, business development, financing, project management, and financial planning and controls to the Earthrise Energy team. Most recently, he served as the Vice President of Pen-Gen Holdings, a U.S.-based renewable energy development company. There he worked on joint greenfield development opportunities. From 2018 to May 2021, he also held the role of Vice President of Pegasus-Global Holdings. There he oversaw business development, construction claims, and project controls on international, high-profile projects for the international management consulting firm focused on energy and transportation projects.

Rodrigo began his career in the energy industry at AES Corporation in 2005, serving more than 12 years during two stints at the company. From 2017 to 2018, he served as Managing Director of Projects – Global E&C shepherding global projects ranging in cost from $50 million to $2 billion through all stages of development. From 2005 to 2016, he held a series of leadership roles at AES and rose to the rank of Director of Projects – Global E&C. In this position, he supported global project development, overseeing successful power purchase agreement bids, handling financing, EPC negotiations, and project risk management for projects totaling more than $1 billion. In between these two roles, Rodrigo served as Senior Director of Development/Commercial Operations at Panda Power Funds. There he was responsible for commercial strategy, M&A opportunities and all aspects of new power generation and infrastructure projects.

Rodrigo earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial management from Purdue University and a Master in Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
