Finance Associate


Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance, the Finance Associate will play a critical role in supporting Earthrise’s capital raising, M&A, and greenfield development strategy. This includes coordinating with financial advisors, capital providers, and transaction counterparties to meet all diligence requirements, as well as interacting with internal and external subject matter experts to evaluate and quantify risk. The Associate will produce detailed financial modeling and analysis of thermal, wind, solar, and energy storage projects while working closely with colleagues across the company to understand, support, and contribute to the company’s acquisition and development strategy. The Associate also will contribute to overall corporate growth and oversee special projects. As part of a small, growing company, the successful candidate also will have the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting and enhancing Earthrise’s company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, comprehend, frame, and resolve complex analytical issues and distill them into simple to understand analysis for management decision-making, communicating key investment benefits, and risks to senior management
  • Support engagement with financial counterparties to secure project debt, tax-equity financing, and corporate level equity and debt
  • Support analysis and evaluation of potential acquisition targets
  • Support the M&A due diligence and valuation process for potential portfolio acquisitions, including coordination of engagement with Earthrise and investment banking teams
  • Develop financial models for capital raises and M&A transactions (thermal and early-stage renewable)
  • Provide financial analysis of greenfield renewable projects by calculating revenue requirements and cost impacts on financial returns under project finance and a tax equity structure
  • Support preparation of materials for board meetings


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master’s -degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience: 3-5 years
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented
  • Self-driven with an ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and experience developing and building complex financial models using Microsoft Excel, including tax equity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments


Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or progress towards designation
